President and Chief Executive Officer

Joanne Allen brings more than 25 years of experience in health care, including significant experience in medical group relationships, strategic planning, and operational improvement. She comes to Saint Louise Regional Hospital directly from O’Connor Hospital in San Jose, California (another DCHS facility), where she held the Chief Operating Officer/Chief Strategic Officer role. During her tenure at O’Connor Hospital, Allen drove initiatives to improve patient care, quality and safety outcomes with O’Connor Hospital participating in Leapfrog, IHI, Magnet hospital designation, CHART and the CMS demonstration project.  She facilitated leadership development within the medical staff, creating true partnerships through engaging physicians in board committees and process improvement teams.

Allen, a resident of Los Gatos, California, holds a Master’s degree in health care administration and a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, both from San Jose State University.
