Executive Director

Don Briones brings more than 20 years of health care industry experience, including significant experience in finance strategy, finance operations, revenue cycle, strategic planning, operational planning, and process improvement. As the Executive Director for Caritas Business Services, Mr. Briones is responsible for the administrative management and effectiveness of the leadership, daily operations, and professional services provided by Caritas Business Services, including Accounting services and operations, Finance Services, and Patient Financial Services. He is also responsible for ensuring a high level of service to the Local Health Ministries (LHM) served by Caritas Business Services, and for communicating relevant information to LHM leadership.

Prior to joining Caritas Business Services, Mr. Briones served as Assistant Chief Financial Officer at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, CA, where he led the organization’s finance strategic planning and operations initiatives as well as revenue cycle operations, which significantly contributed to the organization’s successful financial performance for 7 straight years. He also served as the Corporate Compliance and Privacy Officer, where he executed the Corporate Compliance and Internal Audit programs.  Prior to El Camino Hospital, Briones was a Senior Mangement Consultant for Kurt Salmon Associates, a healthcare strategy and planning consulting firm based in Atlanta, GA, where he had advised more than 25 healthcare clients, including multi-hospital systems, on organizational and targeted strategic planning, operational planning, and process improvement.

Mr. Briones holds a master’s degree in Business Administration from California State University, Hayward and a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from University of California at Berkeley. He currently serves as a branch Board Member and Finance Committee Chair for the YMCA of the Silicon Valley. He has been a long standing member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) and is board certified in Healthcare Compliance from the Health Care Compliance Association.
